Asus Zenwatch smartwatch review

Appearance and Design:

It is a very nice rectangular face smartwatch with organic lines and an elegant curved screen piece. Size of the AMOLED screen is 1.63 inch along with corning’s gorilla glass 3. It is another step in the right direction for smartwatches because it looks like a REAL watch not like modern smartwatches giving appearance of somehow a scientific instrument, calculator or even a cell phone. On the sides of the watch, the rose gold line between silver metals enhances the beauty of the smartwatch. It is an attractive way to show a rectangular face smartwatch. Strap is connected through two metal pieces on each side of the watch which gives it a smooth flow and easy wearing around the wrist. Leather strap is sophisticated and durable and the lock is also fine. Opening and closing of the strap is very easy as compared to any other smartwatch. You can also change the strap according to your own choice. The watch build is pure stainless steel and on the rear of the watch you can find charging pins for the included charging cradle. It is rated as IP 55 dust and water resistant. There are no buttons on the front screen of the smartwatch.

Hardware:

It has Android 5.0.1 lollipop system with snapdragon 400, 1.2 GHZ CPU. Storage capacity is 4 GB along with a RAM of 512. Weight of the Asus Zen smartwatch is about 75 grams and the dimensions are 50.6 x 39.8 x 7.9-9.4 mm. it has standard 360mAh battery. As far as sensors are concerned, the smartwatch has 9 axis sensors and heart beat sensor. As a whole, Zen watch is equipped with all the features of the standard Android Wear watches. Asus has actually combined all the hardware to make it a real masterpiece.

Software:

This smartwatch provides you with all the necessary information in no time. You can move around the several applications to get all the information. You can get notifications, alerts, and updates for traffic, mapping and weather conditions. It is going to feed your wrist all the information organically possible. From the main face of your smartwatch, by scrolling up, you get your most recent notifications and if you scroll down from the main face, you will reach the basic control and settings such as muting function, vibration, brightness and other similar functions. There are some interesting and amusing functions that I like most. For instance, if you want to mute an incoming call or alarm, you just have to cover the watch with your hand. The Zen smartwatch vibrates so that you can locate your watch. It also makes a buzz noise if it is going to be disconnected from the mobile phone. You can change the watch face by selecting any one of the eighteen built in watch faces. You can also turn off the screen and you can turn it on by shaking your wrist or tapping the watch face. It has also application of Asus wellness to keep you fit.

Battery Life:

Battery life is good and if you use it for a busy day like receiving text messages, talking and other functions, it will last up to 20 hours and it is not bad at all. If you switch off the screen, it can last for more times.

Conclusion:

All in all, Asus Zen smartwatch is a durable, elegant and nice quality smartwatch. $199 is nothing when I compare this price with all the functions and features of the Zen smartwatch.
